I'd Like to Tell You a Story ...

So I thought I'd tell you the story of the little male Carolina Wren ...

He has been trying to build a nest on top of my air conditioner under my porch for 2 years now. He puts all his nesting on top of the air conditioner like his mother used to do but his blows off all the time.

Last year I picked up that nesting stuff I bet you're 25 times and put it back on top of the air conditioner but I couldn't help that little bird get it to hold there. The female just walked and squawked a lot at him because she had to lay an egg and he was trying so hard and I felt so bad for the both of them. 😔 and low and behold she laid the egg on top of the air conditioner with just one little piece of nesting.

Well it's March 2026 and the little male wren started all over again and I couldn't bear o

to watch it. So I got a flat basket and I jammed it on top of the air conditioner that has a piece of tin for a roof. And I went and got their nesting stuff that they always put on my ladders and I put it on top of the basket so that it couldn't blow off ... Well lo and behold, believe it or not, that worked and they're building a nest on top of the basket which will hold their nesting materials from blowing out of the position this time.
